Tulip Festival
Merrickville's annual two day event, August 1 & 2, 2020, celebrates the heritage of the Rideau Canal.
Attractions include re-enactors of the period,
live bands, artisans selling their wares, and
the Lions BBQ.
Canalfest
Christmas Hamper Fund
This thirty year annual event assists in the distribution of food hampers which allow families to enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner. On average, fifty baskets with food and gifts for children are financially supported by the Lions, Fire Department, Legion, community members and RBC’s angel tree.
Mountain of Food
Hugh Colton assists the Lions Club in collecting non-perishable food items for the Merrickville and District Community Health Centre’s Food Cupboard. Annually, four thousand pounds of food and monetary donations are collected.
Christmas in Merrickville
This annual event re-creates the holiday spirit of simpler times. A horse drawn wagon providing rides around the village, free apple cider and an appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Claus are made possible courtesy of the Lions.
