Lions Club of Merrickville - Welcome! The Lions Club of Merrickville has experienced many changes and challenges in its lifetime. Today, we are a small but exceptionally active club with a strong, visible community presence. The Lions have been an integral part of the Merrickville-Wolford community for over half a century and have take on or supported many community projects. We look forward to providing even greater support to other valuable projects in our community and beyond. The Lions Club of Merrickville hold true to our motto — "WE SERVE"

2022 Merrickville Lions Old-lympics In August 2022, the Merrickville Lions Club hosted their 2nd annual Fun Old-lympics and BBQ. Lions and guests engaged in an afternoon of 5 hole golf, frisbee golf (Frolf), horseshoes and axe throwing followed by a pot-luck burger and chicken BBQ. Culminating the occasion was the presentation of medals and awards. Club President Sue Wilkes received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from DG Renee Devenny and PDG Jim Devenny presented the club with the Maple Leaf Award. Also in attendance was PDG Dave Howard. We all are looking forward to next year's event.
Major Donations The Lions Club of Merrickville provides funding and major donations throughout the year to year to a variety of groups and individuals in need in our Community and beyond. Some of the examples are: Dispensarlo Medico: Huecorlo Mexico, donated over $15,000 over five years Merrickville Community Centre: kitchen renovations Merrickville Health Centre: $10,000 towards a new van Merrickville Day Care: $4,300 for emergency repairs Ottawa Hospital Foundation: donated $10,000 for cancer research Purchased artificial pitchers mound: $4,500 for local ball teams Most recently-purchased and installed two defibrillators in the community Many other donations that occur annually or when needed

With financial assistance from the Merrickville Lions Club, the Merrickville Day Nursery School is now able to transport their young charges throughout the village in a new Choo Choo Train.
